Brass fittings can be classified according to the way they are connected to pipes. For example, fittings are distinguished for butt, socket, saddle, electrofusion and electrofusion welding, compression couplings, fittings for detachable joints on rubber rings, fittings for adhesive joints, fittings for connections.
Differing in design, pipe fittings are the most common: flange sleeves, tees (equal and unequal), bends, corners, transitions, sockets, couplings, metal-polymer brass union nuts and plugs, as well as polymer pipe clamps.
Compression fitting of corrugated stainless steel pipe
Today, the most convenient and practical way to connect corrugated pipes is considered to be fastening using crimp fittings.
Crimp connection of fittings is used when installing solid and semi-solid pipes.
The Corrugated Tube Fitting Kit includes a silicone gasket, a brass ferrule, a stainless retaining ring, and a union nut for a threaded nipple.
- Sizes of connecting DN thread fittings: from 1/2 "to 2" inches.
- Nominal working pressure depending on the fitting size PN: 15-10 bar.
- Working medium: water, technical liquids, air and gases.
- Maximum fluid temperature for brass fitting without gasket: +250°C.
- Maximum fluid temperature for brass fitting with silicone gasket: +150°C
- The service life of a brass fitting is up to 50 years, and a limit of 30 years for a silicone gasket in fittings.
The tightness of the fitting-corrugated pipe connection is created by compressing the silicone gasket under the pressure of the brass ring when screwing the union nut onto the fitting body.
When assembling the compression fitting, the installers adhere to the following work algorithm: the end of the corrugated pipe is put into the brass fitting with a loosened union nut to the end and then the nut is tightened. The union nut of the fitting is first tightened by hand, as far as possible, then tighten the nut with a wrench until it stops.
The main advantages of connecting corrugated stainless pipes with a compression fitting are simple installation without the use of special equipment and the same simple dismantling if necessary. With just one wrench, a strong connection is created between the fitting and the flexible corrugated pipe.
The connection of corrugated stainless pipes with a compression fitting does not require periodic maintenance, tightening of the union nut due to its specific connection and stainless steel locking plate.
